Dine Out For A Safer Atlanta: Fundraiser for John Henderson 2

Posted by foodiebuddha on January 22, 2009

For those that are scratching their heads by the title of this post, John Henderson was an employee at the Standard on Memorial Drive.   He was gunned down during an early morning robbery.  Though I only “knew him” in the loosest sense of the term, I denoted his warm affect the two or three times he waited on me.  Well, several Atlanta restaurants are uniting to help honor John’s memory.

An event has been organized and the details have been posted on a Yelp Event Page event.  The event is scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, 2009.  Each Participating restaurant will donate 20% of dinner sales to the Atlanta Police Foundation and the Crime Stoppers Atlanta John Henderson Reward Fund.

Its great to see so many restaurants supporting this, especially since a lot of them aren’t in Cabbage Town.
