New Tavern Set To Open Near Piedmont Park 6

Posted by foodiebuddha on February 05, 2009

While I have been unable to confirm the name, a new restaurant is scheduled to open in the upcoming weeks in the space formerly occupied by the Prince of Wales.  Early reports are that the tavern will be named Lift.  However, that is unconfirmed.  In addition, I am still trying to get an idea for what the menu will look like.

In the meantime, it looks like the place will be open as soon as the 15th of February.  A lot of work has been completed since POW went splitsville.  Hopefully, I’ll get a little more info soon so I can add it to the February Dirty List.  The address is 1144 Piedmont Ave Atlanta, GA 30309.  I live in close proximity, so I’ll be sure to stay on top of this.

I’ve hear it will be called “The Nook” and is going to be run by the same people that run Sutra Lounge on Crescent… but I’ve hear 4-5 things in the past year.

I hope it is good, with the right wind, I could hit it with a rock from my house.

I was walking by the old POW and the people working on it said it was going to be called Nook or The Nook. I believe the people that own Sutra are opening it

One of the owners is with Sutra but not run by the Sutra crew. Totally different group. Should be great and I’m looking forward to a new patio in town as I look out my window of 14th Street longingly. :)

Man this place looks NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICEEEE!!!! Walked by there this afternoon and the GM Gabe showed me around the place! Unreal. The wood and the decor is really nice and I bet this place will be PACKED all the time. It has a really cool bar and the seating seems to be pretty wide open…Check out the Patio!!! Can’t wait! Thanks Gabe!

Met the guys last night and got a tour of the place. It’s gorgeous! They’re putting their hearts and souls in to it and it’s going to be fantastic. The menu sounds amazing, and I can’t wait to try the food. Good luck guys.
