Just to clarify – from time to time, I do post on other sites. However, it seems that a handful of dedicated followers insist on using my blogger name and my avatar (you know … the one I have used for years and sits on the facebook page). Sometimes these posts are harmless; other times, these posts are pretty freaking obnoxious.
Ladies and gents – I am not going to pick fights with people on chat boards or comment threads. If I engage in conversations with someone, I will try to register using accounts I own. Bottom line is – I only have absolute control over what goes on this site. Elsewhere, well … that’s another matter. If you see something that seems like it came from me, you can always use my contact form to double check. Be well!

I’m no longer the new kid in town. Tongue Sausage takes that title. He/She (I think it’s a she) has already hit up Serpas True Food. SHe (again – a guess) doesn’t appear to be as mean as I am; but, the reviews so far are solid reads.

So a few days ago, Eat It Atlanta posted these pics:

That made me hungry! No matter what any food picture conglomerate says: his photos do not suck!
Back on point, I read his post and was pleased to see that his technique is very similar to the one my dad uses for his eggs! Mmmmm…. ahhhhhhhhhhh….. ucchchchchchchchchch. Breakfast was good! ENJOY!!!!

I’m no Broderick, but I have started taking pictures. Here are a few shots from my trip to Varasano’s Pizzeria on Sunday, March 29th, 2009.

Pics of the food after the jump!

For the longest time, my previous rants on The Nook occupied the top spots on my popular posts list. As that list is based on the number of page views (aka – number of times someone read(s) each post), it was a bit of a surprise. Those writings were nothing more than news blurbs on the then yet to open restaurant.
But alas, I try to give the people what they want. Given the Nook’s proximity to my pad, I hustled on over there just as soon as I got a chance. I had to sample the food, the folk, and the booze. Though this post is a week late, I took good notes and remember the meal well.

Ah… only in the south!
Q: What do you get when you take 80,000 lbs of waffles, a big rig, and and a cruel sense of humor?
A: A really bad traffic jam.
According to the AJC, a trucker crashed his rig around 11:30 on Saturday morning. Though the contents remained inside the truck, traffic on I-20 and I-285 was some kind of funkalicious for a long… long… long time. Better hurry to your nearest Waffle House in case there is a waffle famine around the city!

Hey gang! So I have decided to setup a FoodieBuddha.com Facebook page. Not too much is going on over there right now; however, I’ll pimp it out over the next few days. I’d love to connect more with the readers, so please head on over. Oh yeah, meet my icon, a kick ass little Sumo statue:

The economy continues to take prisoners at a vicious rate. Decatur Metro is reporting that the Atlanta Bread Co. location in Decatur is throwing in the towel. What a bummer!

Who doesn’t love Woot!? I know Jimmy does. He recently scored a new computer from the deal a day site. Today’s Woot is the aforementioned Breville Citrus Press. I have no idea if these are any good or not, but it’s a cool deal nonetheless. An important note: this edition is refurbished. Go to the Woot! homepage to purchase the item.

Today, MTV ran a bit piece on hip-hop’s ultra cool Big Boi. In the article, Georgia native Antwan André Patton (a.k.a. Big Boi) talks, albeit briefly, about where he likes to eat around ATL. He named only one spot:
“[We] do a little bit of everything," Big said. "R. Thomas is this nice little joint on Peachtree — 24-hour health-food joint, organic," he explained.
Mister Patton also mentioned how he loves to shop and visit uh… adult places… in around town.
Nice to see an Atlanta institution like R Thomas get some love. As Big Boi mentioned, this little Brookwood Hills restaurant offers up a pretty diverse sampling of health conscious cuisine. I myself have an affinity for their deluxe chips and their breakfast options. Everything on the menu is available 24-7 and is pretty solid. While they won’t win any culinary awards, R serves up a kitsch experience with consistent food. I kind of think of it as the yang to the ying of Dynamic Dish. Certainly worth a visit if you haven’t been there before.
R. Thomas Deluxe Grill Restaurant Address & Information:
1812 Peachtree St. NW Atlanta, GA 30309 // P: 404.872.2942 // R. Thomas Website // R. Thomas Menu
