Great review! I ate at Royal China for dim sum at the invitation of some friends of mine - the wife is from Singapore. It was a delicious and enjoyable experience with a group. I think it might be overwhelming if you are not in a group - too much food!! I also dined at Royal China for dinner, ordering off the menu. I think the soup was outstanding, some of the dishes we tried were really good, others not that great. But it was a very enjoyable experience. I noticed that in the evening there are also large parties of Asian families dining together - they were ordering fresh fish and shellfish dishes that looked amazing. The restaurant has big tanks where they keep Dungeness crab and other fresh sea creatures. I would like to go back soon to try some of those intriguing seafood dishes.

The owners have been long-time residents of Atlanta and operate 3 or 4 joints at any given time -- I grew up eating their food. The chef here was "imported" from Hongkong because the owners felt they needed to bring authentic Cantonese dimsum to Atlanta. That was about 20 years ago and that restaurant was Barbecue Corner. When Honto closed, they bought the space and renamed it Royal China. Same chef was moved here and the rest, as they say, is history.
