We tried this out last night on your recommendation and boy was it wonderful! We had a great time, the atmosphere was really friendly, and the food was out of this world! We each (there were 4 of us) sampled one of the Ethiopian beers and thought they wree great as well. I second Stephanie's thought on the Meta. It was really floral and went well with the lamb that I had. We'll be going back for sure! Thanks!

I love Desta and eat there once a week or so. An Eritrean friend of mine says that while most other Ethiopian spots have a better/more traditional atmosphere, Desta has the best food. Fish Tibs with shiro are my favorite. You get those fabulous bites of fish on top of a layer of the semi-spicy chickpeas. So good. Meta beer is great and tastes like honey water. My friends love the appetizer which is raw meat but I don't eat cows so I leave that to them.

I really like this place, especially the fish with salad that you had and the veggie platter. Definitely try the platter next time so you can sample all their vegetarian dishes. It's a great late night spot & I love that the wait isn't as long as at other Ethiopian places. Thanks for the link to my post!
