It appears that Bistro Niko, the newest venture from the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group, is a place to see and be seen.  Even inside of a few days, the restaurant is dotted with 40-something Buckhead Bettys, dapperly dressed 60-something business men, Francophiles, and a few other odd and end type clientele.  Somewhere in this mix, three yutes made their way over for an introductory meal.

The steady crowd is no doubt the result of a lauded reputation, some TV and press clippings (included in the notes), and a good bit of word of mouth traffic.  Powered by father son duo Niko and Pano Karatassos as well as executive chef Gary Donlick, the restaurant has set forth some lofty, yet approachable expectations.

Let The Dining Begin: Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week(s) Goes Live Tonight 2

Posted by foodiebuddha on July 27, 2009

Once a year, a multitude of restaurants in Downtown Atlanta get together for some dining specials.  The event starts today and includes a total of 28 restaurants.  Every restaurant is offering up a $25 prix fixe meal for $25.  Included in the menu is an appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert.  While this doesn’t include beverages, tax, or tip – it’s still one hell of a deal.  I’ve taken the liberty of collecting the list of restaurants for ya’ll and provided a link to OpenTable so you can make your reservations!  Oh yeah, Atlanta Downtown has put up a preferred parking list to help you find a spot for your transportation.

The IRS Isn’t So Bad: Eat Out And Save 15% Off Your Meal During Tax Time

Posted by foodiebuddha on April 09, 2009

Though I’ve always found the idea of “buying something on sale in order to save money” to be laughable, buying things at a discounted rate is a good thing.  Enter the “Intown [sic] Restaurant Stimulus” (betcha thought I was talking about the other IRS).  From April 19-23, and again on the 26-30th, a handful of in town Atlanta restaurants are offering up a 15% discount. What’s better, the total based on the pre-tax amount of your bill!  Boo ya!

The event is sponsored by the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, a nonprofit that has been in our city for almost a century.  The coupon and list of restaurants is available after the jump!
