I don’t know how the heck I missed this! Domo, aka Domo-Kun, is an internet sensation and TV mascot (from Japan). In a moment of promotional awesomeness, 7-11, Dark Horse Comics, and Tokyopop got together and came up with one sweet promotion.
The group launched a plethora of Domo-branded items (including the famous Slurpee) and they are now available. The promo actually started on the 1st and runs for six-weeks. What’s even better (at least for us Domo-nerds), is that this promotion is for the upcoming Domo DVD!!! SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!

Don’t judge the importance of this post by its brevity as we have one hell of a freebee on tap for next week. Ladies and germs, mark your calendars because on Monday, September 7th, 2009 … every Chick-Fil-A will serve up one FREE original chicken sandwich to any and all customers who show up sporting sports-related apparel. Who doesn’t like free stuff? I know I do. Food Arts Magazine, a publication focused on the restaurant and hotel business, is ponying up some free samples. All you have to do is fill out this form. Now mind you, this offer is only available to qualified professionals, so you may not actually get accepted even if you fill out the form. However, if you do qualify, you will be handsomely rewarded.
Amongst the many benefits, Food Arts has a good number of excellent recipes. Geared toward restaurateurs, you’ll get your fill of commercial grade equipment; however, they also touch on wine and spirits from time to time. If the offer isn’t for you, but you are still interested in the magazine, check out their website, which has a decent bit of info available for free.

To celebrate their annual customer appreciation day, Chick-Fil-A is giving away a free meal to each and every customer (sort of). All you have to do is show up dressed as a moo cow. No word on just how much effort you need to put into your outfit … but it seems to me that the cost of the meal will be less than the cost of the outfit. You can find the nearest Chick-Fil-A here.
Meanwhile, cruel parents can dress their youngins up, take a pic, and post it online. The winner of that contest gets a $1,000 Savings bond. Nice! I would gladly sacrifice my younger brother’s dignity for that; unfortunately, he’s over the age of 10

Alright ya’ll, while the emails are still coming in from last Friday’s post, I thought I’d do something a little different to get the rest of the books out the door. All you have to do here is post a comment that talks about your favorite “____” here in the ATL. Be it your favorite chef, your favorite meal, you’re favorite restaurant … I don’t care. Just make it food related and make sure to stand out. That’s it! Easy breezy… I’ll snag a few of you over the next couple of days until they’re all gone! Now this sounds like a heck of a deal. Ladies and gents, mark your calendars. On Saturday, May 16, every Shane’s Rib Shack location (39 locations here in Georgia), is giving away a 1/2 rack of ribs, a large coke zero, and a t-shirt. The catch: you have to be one of the first 100 customers in the joint. Can anyone say… lunchtime rush? Most of them open at 11 AM each Saturday; however, each location has its own hours. Hot on the tails of the newest 5 Seasons location, Hop City Beer is opening in the Brickworks, that new complex over on the West End of the city. Though I’m not a beer fan by any stretch of the imagination (the other day, I had my first one in 5 years), I can’t wait to see what this place packs.
On Thursday, April 2 (that’s tomorrow), there is a grand opening celebration. The store touts itself as “Atlanta’s first craft beer specialty store.” Basically, this is a liquor store without the liquor … and a WHOLE HECK of a lot more beer. According to the email they sent out, they will stock over 1,000 flavors of beer and more than 600 types of wine. For those who like to get adventurous, they also carry home brewing equipment.
As for the party itself – there will be a plethora of free beer samples, live music, and some grub. It runs from 6-9 and is free to everyone. CL ran a more in depth preview on the 30th. As of this writing, their website is not up.

I’m not 100% sure if the quota for this one has been reached. Weber Gas Grills is giving away a free spatula. From their website:
We are giving away free grill accessory, spatula (turner).
It is made of plastic and please use it only after the grilled product is out of the grill/BBQ. Don’t use it on open fire! Only 7000 turners will be given away. The current give away is worldwide.
I don’t need one, so I’m not going to sign up. As of now, all you have to do is fill out the form on their homepage. The first 7,000 people to sign up get one. As always, I suggest using quasi real information.
