Fox Bros Bar-B-Q (BBQ) Restaurant Review – Little Five Points, Atlanta, GA 8

Overall: ★½☆☆

Folks in these parts tend to have very strong feelings about their barbeque.  I guess that rings true throughout the South.  Whether you find yourself in Kansas City, Memphis, the Baby Blues (Carolina country), or the great state of Georgia, you are likely to find a bevy of opinions as to which style reigns supreme.  While I am far from an enthusiast, I have spent my entire childhood in the Deep South. LowCountry Barbeque Bums Me Out And I’m Not Sure Why

Posted by Foodie Buddha on March 01, 2009

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, LowCountry Barbeque has closed their restaurant in Suwanee.  I must say, I’m pretty bummed despite the fact that I never ate their.  I am admittedly not the biggest barbeque fan.  Even so, though I spent my high school years in Memphis, TN, I have always preferred the vinegar based flavors of Carolina barbeque.

LowCountry is a proprietor of said style, and for that reason I’m bummed.  Though their website gives no indication of the closure, Bennett Brown, president of LowCountry Barbecue Restaurant, said:

“Despite our efforts and loyal customer base, we were not able to make ends meet during this difficult time. Our efforts will now be focused on our 24 year old catering business.”

Thank goodness that their catering business isn’t going anywhere.  Last year, we threw an engagement party for some dear friends of mine.  LowCountry provided the food and everyone was… as they say… happy as a pig in you know what :-)
