That’s right people, another year … another opportunity to skedaddle to Downtown Atlanta for some dining deals. Starting tonight, and running through August 8th, 27 restaurants are serving up prix-fixe menus that give adventurous eaters the opportunity to eat on a budget. For the most part, each meal includes an app, an entrée, and some dessert. You will have to shell out a few more bucks if you want something to drink. In addition, I suggest you tip your server.

Paschal’s Restaurant Review – Castleberry Hills, Atlanta, GA [First Impressions] 3
On a recent working weekend, after Adam and I were rejected by Busy Bee Cafe (they are closed on Saturdays), we were forced to look elsewhere for grub. We volleyed back and forth until Adam suggested Paschal’s, a long-standing highbrow soul food joint. It’s amazing to me how many times I’ve visited Castleberry Hills for a meal, only to drive right past Paschal’s. Furthermore, it’s not a particularly good sign that when pressed to come up with a place to get my Suth’un fix in, Paschal’s almost never comes to mind. This despite the fact that it is in close proximity to where I work/live.
Started as a motor hotel by a couple of brothers way back yonder, this Atlanta mainstay has gone the way of corporate America. As my only previous visits to Paschal’s occurred around the time I just started to learn my two plus two’s, I cannot really speak to what once was. What we have now, for better or worse, is the fine dining version of Mary Mac’s Tea Room.
Let The Dining Begin: Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week(s) Goes Live Tonight 2
Once a year, a multitude of restaurants in Downtown Atlanta get together for some dining specials. The event starts today and includes a total of 28 restaurants. Every restaurant is offering up a $25 prix fixe meal for $25. Included in the menu is an appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert. While this doesn’t include beverages, tax, or tip – it’s still one hell of a deal. I’ve taken the liberty of collecting the list of restaurants for ya’ll and provided a link to OpenTable so you can make your reservations! Oh yeah, Atlanta Downtown has put up a preferred parking list to help you find a spot for your transportation.
