I’m baaaaaack. After five cities, six stops, roughly 25 days, about 87 restaurants, and approximately 3,500 food photos, I snuck back into Atlanta early Wednesday morning. My head is spinning. My stomach is at capacity. My movements are lethargic. But most importantly, my mind is full of culinary experiences and friendly encounters that will last until I’m worm fodder.
I am still trying to wrap my brain around about what to do with all these notes, pictures, and anecdotes. I visited some of the most elite restaurants in the country and some of the most mundane of places … often times with surprising results. I made one of the most unintentional visits to a place sure to end up on my Muff & Buff Tour and found my way to more than a few eating landmarks.
I’ll put out something … probably a series of posts … but I’m just not sure exactly how to go about tackling this mountain of receipts, menus, and illicitly acquired tokens. For now, I’ll provide you with an approximate list of the 87 restaurants I am positive I found my way to.

Hello to The Kind Pie in Buckhead. You see, crave worthy deliciousness is something we all obsess about. While achieving that meditative state is difficult and rare, when we do stumble upon such wonderful morsels of yum, those of us lucky enough to have the time will do what we can to feed that obsession [case in point: 3x visits in nine days]. Amongst foodies in the Dirty, nothing seems to draw us out more than the opportunity to expand our waistlines and spike our cholesterol at the mercy of the pizza gods.
Being the creatures of habit that we happen to be, many of us have started to make our way over to The Kind Pie. Within 24-hour of my initial notation on the place, @EggRollStan started abusing TKP’s gratis delivery service, The Bliss followed shortly thereafter, and Live to Feast oozed all over it just a few days later. At the tail end, even the mainstream media is on the trail (ATL Mag’s Bill Addison has been over for a meal). While we wait for further dissemination by foodies, cavorters, and grublets alike, early impressions from this guy are that TKP should easily be considered amongst the best pizza pushing drug dealers in the city.

I should be writing about this …

but instead I’m watching this …

So I’ll be back on …
In the meantime people – if you have a chance to get to The Kind Pie in Buckhead… DO IT!!! AND DO IT NOW … the pizza is amongst the best in the city … and inspired by Brian Spangler of Portland and his take on the cuisine! This place deserves to blow up … it’s just that good!

Do I have an iPhone? Absolutely not. Will I ever get one? I seriously doubt it. Is that something Im proud of? Damn skippy! That said, foursquare (iTunes page) is a kick ass app that ALMOST makes me want to rethink my stance.
What exactly is foursquare? Its a location aware social media tool that allows you to update your location, send shouts to your friends, track your ‘achievements,’ and keep a to-do list that is shared with your friends. You can also add additional information about your favorite food or beer to your favorite hangouts.
Ive watched a couple of demos of this thing and I gotta say it looks like a winner. I, like the gang over at Read Write Web, think the real kicker to this whole thing is the achievement system. Think of it like the Xbox 360 Achievement system for your night life! Though Atlanta is not yet available, I am glad to see that they have a mobile version so those of us using dated technology (Treo 755p cough cough) can still play.
For those of you who live here in Atlanta, be patient Im sure theyll get to us soon. For now, the city selection is limited to Austin, Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York City, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, & Washington DC.
