Taste Of Atlanta 2009 Hits October 10th & 11th

Taste of Atlanta has long been known as the premier foodie festival in the Dirty South.  After setting up shop at Atlantic Station the past couple of years, the festival has relocated to nearby Technology Square in Midtown for this year.  The corner of 5th and Spring is already blocked off, tents and other temporary fixtures now line the street, and it looks like it’s going to be one heck of an event.

With a whopping 80+ restaurants, a handful of celebrity chefs, live music, and a whole mess of activities, I’m not about to list out all the events and goings on.  However, here is the 411 on what to expect!

The event runs this Saturday and Sunday (that’s October 10th and 11th) from 11am – 6pm on both days.  If you purchase tickets before midnight on the 9th (that’s today), then you’ll be able to snag a general admission spot for $25.00.  If you show up the day of, expect to pay $30.  For that price, you get entrance and 15 tasting tickets (more on that a bit).  For you high flyers, there is a VIP package for $65 which includes 20 tasting tickets and entrance into the Wine & Beer Experience.

It’s a rain or shine event, so don’t expect to get your money back if the weather is indeed inclement.

If you show up on Saturday, you’ll be able to catch cooking demos from Atlanta chefs Richard Blais and Drew Van Leuvan (of One Midtown Kitchen).  Chef & The Fatman, those radio guys, will also be on hand.  On Sunday, Jay Swift, of 4th & Swift, Carla Hall, of Top Chef fame, and Glenn Law of Sweet Auburn Bistro will all be on hand.  There are a few more demos sprinkled in as well.

The taste tickets allow you to sample the food.  In addition to the ones included with your entry fee, you can purchase additional ones in blocks of 10 or 20 for $1/piece.

Full details can be found at the Taste of Atlanta website and tickets can be purchased online on the Ticket Alternative website.
